Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Makwana was inspired to become a dentist while still in high school thanks to his own dentist. He was always joyful, upbeat, and showed a true passion for taking care of his patients. His warm, welcoming nature and ability to listen actually made Dr. Makwana look forward to his visits. He strives to give his patients the same kind of experiences today.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Makwana began his college career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and he went on to earn his DDS degree from Marquette University in 1996. He then completed a General Practice Residency and Fellowship at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University. He went on to receive training at the University of Florida where he focused on treating oncology patients, and today, he is also a certified Invisalign provider.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Makwana and his wife Olga, who also works in the dental field, have three children, and they all enjoy spending warm, cozy nights at home with movies and popcorn. He also likes to play golf and even has his private pilot’s license. He looks forward to flying his family around and exploring the U.S. and is currently pursuing his instrument rating.
